Work from home made difficult from 15 th October

The Supreme Court monitored Environment Pollution (Prevention & Control) Authority (EPCA) has banned use of DG Sets in Delhi and the NCR Towns Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad & Gurugram, making the work from home difficult for want of uninterrupted power supply.  Only in the emergency service category or those in the Exclusion List will be allowed to use DG Sets.  Although details of the emergency service category is yet to be disclosed, services like hospitals, health care, elevators and escalators, etc. could be in the exemption list.  However, power back up services being provided by the developers or RWAS would in residences, in all possibility, would not be allowed to use DG Set.

The ban on use of DG Sets has been imposed looking to the deteriorating air quality in Delhi and the neighboring NCR Towns.

With the increasing incidents of COVID-19, almost all the technology companies have allowed their employees to work from their homes.  With the ban on use of DG Sets for residential apartments and the frequent load shedding in winter, work from home is going to suffer unless these employees install inverters at their homes.

The technology industry is the only industry withstanding the COVID-19 impact and it is imperative that the Governments ensure uninterrupted supply of power and internet services for those working from home.
